Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 Encounters Severe Turbulence in Iran: Cabin Ceiling Panels Collapse

A Boeing 737 operated by Iran’s Sepehran Airlines, operating a scheduled flight between Mashhad and Kermanshah, encountered severe turbulence shortly after departure.

During the sudden altitude fluctuations, portions of the cabin ceiling panels collapsed into the passenger aisle. Following the incident, the flight crew halted the climb and initiated an immediate return to Mashhad Airport. The aircraft touched down without further incident.

No serious injuries were reported among the passengers and crew, and the aircraft was grounded for technical inspection. Iranian commercial carriers continue to navigate operational challenges, as long-standing sanctions heavily constrain fleet renewal programs and access to original spare parts and components.
